“Strong dialogue and excellent character interaction engross the reader. Often when a story is told in first person, the reader doesn’t really get to understand or know the other characters in the book very well. Ms. Tompkins has done a superb job of showing us vis-à-vis the dialogue and interaction a great deal about Tarrek and Bahlin and other secondary characters so the reader is fully engaged with all of them. The world created by the author feels real, and the mystery is intriguing. And lest I forget, the romance while not the main point of the novel is still scorching! This is Ms.Tompkins’s debut novel and all I can say is brava!”
